More recent advances in artificial intelligence, away from convolutional networks to transformer architectures, seem to indicate that concepts such as space and time are likely to be acquired in the early phases of life; these concepts precipitate in the latent space of the network. Higher semantic functions will make use of those by lumping them into language tokens.
