Nice and very positive article, in particular the idea of a fractal food supply structure which would provide more resilience to some external factors. It reminded me of what Tim Jackson in his book "Prosperity Without Growth" says about "Governing the Commons":
These principles also include an appeal to what Vincent Ostrom called ‘polycentric governance’ – a set of nested levels of governance from the most local to the most interconnected, each level taking some responsibility for the overall management of the system.
This sounds a bit like EU’s subsidiarity principle.
