Nice article; related to that, some time ago there was a programme on French radio comparing the effect of insipid industrial food (cheese, chocolate, you name it) with simple foods of stronger flavour. It transpires that the body (and pallet) gets satiated very quickly with the latter but not so much with the former resulting in eating more than needed. This was purported to be a reason for people remaining in better shape when eating simple but flavourful foods rather than highly processed or industrial foods.

Along these lines, I remember how surprise I was reading the ingredient list of bread when we moved to the USA, lots of them; this kind of bread would keep for decades but has no flavour. Good bread only needs a few ingredients and should be fresh. Same for other foods, too, simple and fresh. That demands effort and cannot be convenience food.

And don't forget: no snacking!
