Thanks for a positive spin on the transitions on the way. This brightened up my day as under this light many things do not look as bleak as often reported.

As engineer, I was always surprised that economics appears to be stuck in static analysis; they may be useful for a steady state (and perhaps in the past when society was more stable and economic processes were much more stationary). Differential equations would be more appropriate describing dynamic systems, even simple sets of first order equations would be a tad better.
