Thanks for sharing; this was nearly what I was after: instructions on how to set up a virtual output device that supports stereo to binaural conversion. Unfortunately, the tar.gz archive is a dead link, and the originals from IRCAM are difficult to obtain (anonymous ftp does not seem to work anymore).
