Perhaps the term `degrowth` needs some work as it seems to have a negative connotation, similar to minimalism which is often and falsely seen as deprivation.

All is mostly a question of economic metric chosen. In the vein of Tim Jackson, it is sustainable and equitable prosperity that needs quantification, where GDP is only a poor substitute. Material `degrowth` will be necessary for energy, resources or simply "stuff", but paired with efficiency gains and technology; it is not one or the other, but both in tandem.
