Yes, induction hobs are great in terms of control and other aspects such as cleaning and child friendliness; I have been using a Bosch and later a Neff one for the past 20 years. The magnetic control knob is available on other induction hobs, too; that is a great feature but not a differentiating feature.

Temperature measurement at the bottom of the pan may help and could be used to estimate the temperature of the goods inside the pot using some models (and information whether there is a lid on or not). It would be much better if there was a wireless temperature sensor that came with the hob, to be put into the goods to be cooked in order to close a control loop with the hob's induction actuator to regulate the temperature, e.g. cooking sous-vide, or making caramel to name but a few.
